HOW TO MAKE GREEN BEER AND WINE

As I get older, the thrill of going out on a weekday for the sake of green beer for St. Patrick's Day is losing it's charm. This year, we're staying in and making our own green beer and wine. And the biggest plus: My husband will get to enjoy a good green beer because we get to choose, and I'll be opting for some green wine.

Green Beer

  1. Choose a light colored beer or ale. Our personal beer of choice for this: Sierra Nevada Kellerweis. My husband normally goes for stouts but keep in mind, a dark beer will require more food coloring and you'll end up with green stained teeth. Ew.
  2. Place 1 drop of green food coloring into your glass. (Add more if you want it darker)
  3. Pour the beer into the glass.
  4. Enjoy!

Green Wine

  1. Place 1 drop of green food coloring into a wine glass. If you're using the whole bottle, place 8 drops of food coloring in the decanter or pitcher.
  2. Pour the wine.
  3. Enjoy!
